Avocado Oil

Avocado is famous for its healing, anti-bacterial and hydrating benefits. Avocado oil is primarily a mono-saturated oil, rich in Vitamin E, essential fatty acids and a powerful antioxidant. It’s penetration capabilities make it an excellent carrier of other ingredients into the skin. As a cleanser, the emollient oil picks up dirt and grime as it moves across the skin.

The Avocado plant has been cultivated for more than 2500 years in South America. The name was mentioned first time in the early 17th century in British botany books, from here the rich fruit became popular in the western world. The plant can grow up to 80 feet and takes between 4 and 6 years to bear fruits. Enzymes in the fruit help to prevent the fruit from falling off the tree and help to use the tree as natural storage for many months.

Avocado Oil contains various beneficial vitamins as well as minerals and healthy fats. The high amount of oleic acid in the oil helps to keep the skin moisturised and hydrated.

The antioxidants vitamin A, C and E help to eliminate free radicals and can restore damaged skin. Furthermore, they can support the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibres. Moreover, it gives elasticity to the skin and smooths out lines and wrinkles.

Fatty alcohols in Avocado Oil can reduce damage by UV rays. They enhance the repair of skin DNA and reduce skin inflammation. These extracts help to heal wounds too and support quicker new skin cell growth. Finally, Avocado Oil is a great all-rounder ingredient in skincare.
